Scope

This document specifies the terms and definitions, general requirements, investigation and survey of shaft engineering, shaft design, shaft construction lifting and suspension operations, shaft excavation and lining, quality inspection and acceptance of shaft engineering, auxiliary operations of shaft construction and environmental control, etc. for highway tunnels. This document is applicable to new highway tunnel ventilation shafts and auxiliary construction shafts in Sichuan Province with a basic earthquake peak acceleration value of less than or equal to 0.40g, mainly excavated by drilling and blasting methods. Highway reconstruction and expansion shafts and shafts used for other purposes shall refer to and implement this document accordingly.
