Scope
Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements for pollination by wall bees in orchards in Mengyin County. This standard applies to pollination by wall bees in orchards in Mengyin County; Main technical content: 1. Technical requirements 1.1 Preparation of nest boxes, nest tubes, and pupae boxes 1.1.1 Nest boxes are fixed-type. They are made of materials such as hollow bricks, which can be used for many years after being put into use once. Nest boxes are composed of three hollow bricks and two tiles. The lower part is padded with a piece of film to prevent ants and other pests from climbing onto and damaging the wall bees (pupae). The upper part of the front and rear two pieces is aligned and laid horizontally. The upper cover is made of two tiles to prevent rainwater from seeping in. Nest boxes are placed under the canopy of trees that are sheltered from the wind and sun and relatively open, with a distance of 20-30 cm from the ground, and the bee exit facing south. Three nest boxes are set up per mu, with a distance of 50-70 m between nest boxes, and 100 nest tubes are placed in each box, with the tubes facing outward. A cardboard separator is placed between two layers. 1.1.2 Nest tubes are made of reed, with an average inner diameter of 0.7 cm and a length of 25 cm. One end is closed and the other end is open. The mouth of the tube is smooth and painted with four colors (green, red, yellow, and white) (with more colors, wall bees are more likely to choose to settle). Then they are mixed in a ratio of (generally 5:2:2:1) and tied into bundles with an average of 70 tubes per bundle. Sufficient nest tubes should be prepared, which are 2-3 times the number of bees to be released. A total of 300 nest tubes should be prepared per mu. 1.1.3 Pupae boxes are used for medicinal small packaging boxes or capped mineral water bottles (for easy warmth preservation). Pupae boxes are placed on the nest tubes in the nest boxes, with 2-3 cm exposed. Pupae boxes are plac
