Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, production area, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage for the geographical indication product Huining Glycyrrhizic Root (Huining County Government Document [2017] No. 16), which was approved by the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (registration number: 24217334) in accordance with the provisions of the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China and other laws and regulations by the People's Government of Huining County. Main technical content: The altitude range for the growth of Huining Glycyrrhizic Root is between 1,450 and 2,400 meters, with an average temperature of 3.5°C to 9.6°C, an annual rainfall of 100 to 300 mm, a frost-free period of 155 days, and a sunshine duration of 2,700 to 3,360 hours. The area has abundant water resources. Huining Glycyrrhizic Root can grow normally on lithic calcic soils, gray calcic soils, black loess soils, calcareous meadow black soils, and saline-alkaline soils, but calcic soils are most suitable. It can grow normally with a pH value of 7.2 to 9.0, and a pH value of around 8.0 is more suitable. It has salt resistance, and seeds can grow in soils with a total salt content of 0.08% to 0.89%, but not in heavily saline-alkaline soils or heavily saline-alkaline soils. The soil environmental quality should meet the second-level requirements of GB 15618; the environmental and air quality should meet the first-level requirements of GB 3095 and the second-level requirements of GB 9137; and the irrigation water should meet the requirements of GB 5084.
