Scope

This standard presents and explains the principle of fault masking in multiple series-connected non-potential contact interlocking devices (B1 to Bn) connected to a logic unit (K) that performs diagnostics (see Figures 1 to 7). The standard also provides guidance on how to estimate the probability of fault masking and the maximum DC value of the interlocking devices involved. This standard only applies to interlocking devices that are physically connected in series on both channels. The standard has the following two purposes: -- to provide users with guidance on estimating the maximum DC value; -- to serve as a design guide for SRP/CS systems.
