This document applies to pineapple production in Chengmai County, Hainan Province; Main technical content: 4. Site selection and planning 4.1 Site selection: Preferentially select sites within a 2-km radius of the park with no pollution sources, good drainage, sufficient sunlight, a slope of ≤20°, convenient transportation, and deep, loose, and breathable soil with a pH value of 4.5–6.0. Sandy red or sandy loam soils with rich organic matter are suitable for site construction. Avoid sites with sea or river sand beaches or clay-heavy soils. The environmental conditions of the production area shall comply with the NY/T 5010 standard. 4.2 Site planning: For orchards with an area of <4 ha, simple road systems, planting blocks, irrigation and drainage systems, and water and soil conservation projects can be planned according to actual conditions. For orchards with an area of ≥4 ha, windbreak forests, water source forests, road systems, irrigation and drainage systems, water and soil conservation projects, worker residential areas, warehouses, and post-harvest processing sites should be planned. Large orchards should be divided into several blocks according to slope direction, soil quality, and fertility, with each block covering an area of 2–3 ha. 5. Land preparation 5.1 Tillage: After clearing the site, mechanical tillage is carried out, with two plows and two harrows used to form ridges. The plowing depth should be ≥50 cm, and the ridge width should be around 135 cm.
