Scope
This standard defines a transmission protocol, the LTP protocol, which is capable of ensuring link reliability under extreme link conditions, such as extremely long RTTs or frequent connection interruptions. The LTP protocol, with its stateful automatic retransmission mechanism, operates above the data link layer in a network environment deploying the Bundle Protocol, providing reliable data transmission services and ensuring the integrity of data transmitted between communication entities. This standard is applicable to interstellar network communications with extremely long distances and high latencies.
