Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, and storage of nitro coatings.
This standard applies to coatings mainly composed of cellulose nitrate as the film-forming substance, with the addition of modified rosin resins, acrylic resins, and other modifiers. The products are mainly used for the protection and decoration of metal, plastic, and wooden surfaces.
This standard does not apply to the protection and decoration of the surfaces of wooden products used in interior decoration (including factory-based painting).
