Scope

Scope: It specifies the disinfection and disease prevention measures, pupation standard, temperature and humidity control, rearing techniques, cocoon management, and precautions during the rearing process of the Hua Kang No. 3 silkworm breed in Ankang area. Applicable to the rearing techniques of the Hua Kang No. 3 silkworm breed in Ankang area; Main technical content: The Hua Kang No. 3 silkworm breed has black-brown color and strong dispersibility. The silkworms enter and exit pupation synchronously, with green-white body color and scattered spots. They actively feed on mulberry leaves at all ages, have quick pupation, uniform development, and well-proportioned bodies. However, they are easily affected by environmental conditions and prone to induce three-pupation silkworms. This breed is susceptible to bacterial diseases and has high requirements for mulberry leaves, avoiding wet, dew-soaked, and unclean leaves. It is necessary to do a good job in mulberry leaf harvesting, transportation, and storage to prevent mulberry leaves from overheating and deterioration. It is also important to prevent bacterial and paralysis diseases, and to add drugs to combat these diseases. The fully mature silkworms have uniform maturity and elliptical cocoon shape with white cocoon color and moderate shrinkage. The total cocoon weight is 1.92g, with a cocoon layer rate of 23%, an unraveled silk length of 1100m, a cleanliness of 95%, good unraveling quality, and moderate fineness, capable of producing silk of grade 5A or higher. The pupation period is 11.5 days for the fifth instar, and the total pupation period is 23-24 days. 4.2 Strict disinfection and disease prevention measures: Clean and disinfect the silkworm rooms and equipment before rearing; set up dedicated mulberry storage rooms; disinfect the silkworm pads with Disease Prevention No. 1 and fresh lime powder alternately every other day during each instar; fumigate the silkworm rooms with fumigant during pupation.
