Scope
This standard applies to the generation, transformation, and distribution systems of AC and DC power on ships, as well as the operation and maintenance of electrical equipment.
This standard specifies the safety requirements for the operation and work near electrical installations. These requirements apply to the operation, running, and maintenance of equipment. This standard applies to all electrical and non-electrical work operations, such as the operational requirements for ship structures near electrical equipment and cables.
This standard does not apply to general personnel who use equipment and devices. If the design and installation of equipment and devices are intended for general use, they should comply with the relevant requirements of the IEC 60092 series of standards.
