Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules, and packaging, transportation, and other requirements for nuclear-grade sinterable uranium dioxide powder (referred to as uranium dioxide powder). This standard applies to any uranium dioxide powder with a 235U enrichment level used in the preparation of core blocks for nuclear reactors. This standard specifically refers to uranium dioxide powder without any other additives (such as lubricants, binders, or pore-forming agents). This standard does not include requirements for preventing critical safety accidents and occupational health. Users are obligated to establish appropriate safety and occupational health systems and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements before use.
