Scope

Scope: This document specifies the technical requirements for mango planting in the Jinsha River Basin of Yunnan Province, including site selection, seedling production, planting, soil management, pruning, fertilization, flower and fruit management, pest and disease control, and harvesting. This document applies to mango planting in the arid and semi-arid valleys of the Jinsha River Basin in Yunnan Province. Main technical contents: 1. Site selection: 1.1.1 Climate conditions: Average annual temperature greater than 17.5 °C, annual effective temperature above 10 °C exceeding 6,000 °C, minimum absolute temperature above 0 °C, and frost period less than 30 days. Rainfall less than 1,000 mm, dry weather during flowering period, no continuous low temperature and rain, and no continuous drought during fruit development period. 1.1.2 Soil conditions: Soils with good aeration and water permeability, high fertility, and good water retention. The soil layer should be deeper than 0.8 m, with groundwater level below 1 m, and pH of the soil between 5.5 and 7.5. The soil environmental quality should meet the requirements of NY/T5010. 1.1.3 Altitude: The planting site should be below 1,700 m above sea level. 1.1.4 Site conditions: Close to water sources, sheltered from the wind and facing the sun, avoiding backlighting and low-lying areas with frost. 1.1.5 Water quality: The irrigation water quality should meet the requirements of NY/T5010. 1.1.6 Air quality: The environmental air quality should meet the requirements of NY/T5010. Site planning: 1.2.1 Planting areas: The layout of planting areas should be in harmony with the natural environment, and be divided according to slope orientation, soil quality, and fertility, with convenient irrigation and drainage, and easy transportation. For gentle terrain areas, the size of planting areas should be 50 mu to 100 mu; for hilly areas, the size of planting areas should be 30 mu to 50 mu. 1.2.2 Terrace development: The terraces should
