Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for general communication using Class D digital selective calling (DSC) VHF wireless telephones on board ships.
These requirements include the relevant provisions of the ITU Radio Regulations and ITU-R Recommendation M.493-10 defining Class D equipment, combined with the relevant guidelines detailed in IMO resolutions MSC/Circ.803, MSC/Circ.862, and MSC.131(75).
