Scope
This standard applies to the food additive Tartrazine, which is produced by diazotizing p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid and coupling it with 1-(4′-sulfonated phenyl)-3-carboxymethyl ester-5-pyrazolone, followed by hydrolysis, or by diazotizing p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid and coupling it with 1-(4′-sulfonated phenyl)-3-carboxyl-5-pyrazolone.
