Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the selection and planning of orchards, seedling cultivation, planting, soil and water management, pruning and shaping, flower and fruit management, pest and disease control, harvesting and packaging, and storage and transportation for the production of green food pears in Tongzi County. Main technical content: 3.1 Site selection and planning 3.1.1 Climate conditions: The average annual temperature should be 13°C to 15°C, with the critical temperature for frost damage during the budding period being -1.65°C to -3.85°C, the critical temperature for flowering being -1.6°C to -2.2°C, and the critical temperature for young fruit period being -1.12°C to -1.65°C. The annual rainfall should be more than 1,000 mm. 3.1.2 Soil conditions: Sandy loam soils with deep layers, loose texture, good water permeability and retention, and low groundwater levels are most suitable. A pH value of 5.4 to 8.5 is appropriate, with 5.8 to 7.2 being the most ideal. Normal soil salt content should be below 0.2%, and when it exceeds 0.3%, root growth and development will be significantly impaired. The soil layer should be ≥80 cm deep, with an organic matter content of ≥1.5% and a groundwater level of ≤1.0 m. 3.1.3 Topography and terrain: It is advisable to build orchards on slopes with a gradient of <25°, preferably on southern slopes, and avoid valley areas. The altitude should be above 800 m. 3.1.4 Water sources: The area should have clean and unpolluted surface and groundwater, and be far from factories and mines that pollute water. Irrigation water should not contain pollutants, especially heavy metals such as mercury, lead, chromium, cadmium, benzene, cyanide, etc., which should not exceed the standard. 3.1.5 Environmental conditions: There should be no major air pollution sources within 5 km of the orchard and 20 km of the prevailing wind direction.
