Scope

This standard specifies the quality grading principles for faceted sapphire jewelry (including both inlaid and uninlaid sapphire jewelry). This standard applies to the grading of faceted sapphire jewelry with a blue hue of more than 1 carat (for sapphire jewelry with a weight less than 1 carat, this standard can be used as a reference). It can be used as a reference for quality inspection, value assessment, commercial trade, capital pledge, pawning, and auction of faceted sapphire jewelry. This standard does not apply to the grading of sapphire jewelry that has undergone artificial "processing", nor to sapphire raw materials and unpolished sapphire jewelry.
