Scope: This document specifies the environmental conditions of production, production techniques, quality requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for sweet corn in Dongfang City. This document applies to the production, sales, and circulation of sweet corn in Dongfang City. Main technical content: 4. Environmental conditions of production: Dongfang City has a tropical monsoon climate with four seasons like spring, with an average annual temperature of 24°C to 25°C; sufficient sunlight, with an average annual sunshine duration of 2,628.1 hours and a maximum daily sunshine duration of 9.5 hours; an average annual precipitation of 1,150 mm; and abundant water resources, including nine rivers: Changhe River, Nankai River, Gan'en River, Tongtian River, Luodai River, Beili River, Nangang River, Nanyao River, and Dongfang River. The soil in Dongfang City is mainly loam, with a deep soil layer, loose and fertile soil, good air permeability and drainage, and high soil nutrient content, providing excellent natural conditions for the growth of Dongfang sweet corn. 5. Production techniques 5.1 Site selection: Select agricultural production areas with convenient irrigation and high soil fertility. The quality of irrigation water and soil quality shall comply with the provisions of GB 5084 and NY/T 5010. 5.2 Site isolation: Sweet corn varieties should be planted separately from different genotypes and seed color varieties (including different sweet corn varieties).
