Scope

This standard specifies: — General requirements for the procurement and supply of industrial turbines and gas expansion turbines; — Basic requirements for single-stage and multi-stage impulse or reaction turbines that are not standby or used as critical equipment; — Partial requirements for driven machines, gear systems, lubrication and sealing systems, controllers, instrumentation, and auxiliary equipment for turbines. This standard applies to axial-flow and radial-flow industrial turbines (turbines and gas expansion turbines). This standard applies to industrial turbines and (high temperature flue gas) thermal expansion turbines used to drive pumps, fans, compressors, or generators. However, for special applications, such as general and special-purpose turbines used in the oil and gas industry, supplementary specifications may be proposed as needed.
