Scope
Main technical content: This standard is drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1 and GB/T 18765-2015 "Requirements for the Application of Geographical Indication Product Standards" and "Requirements for the Application of Geographical Indication Product Standards" to protect the wild ginseng (also known as forest-grown ginseng in the 2015 edition of the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China) of Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County. This regulation is proposed by the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Ginseng Association. The regulation is coordinated by the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau. The responsible units for this regulation include the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Ginseng Association, the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Food and Drug Inspection and Testing Center, and the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Agricultural and Rural Development Service Center. The main drafters of this standard are Yu Shaocheng, Ji Hongli, Ren Fushan, Huang Chunying, Dong Xiqing, Li Shipin, Zhang Xuefeng, and Xing Lipeng. The scope of protection for the geographical indication product "Kuandian Mountain Ginseng" is limited to the geographical indication product approved and registered by the National Administration for Market Regulation—namely, Kuandian Mountain Ginseng, which refers to the administrative area of Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County in Dandong City, Liaoning Province. Its geographical location is between 40°13′ and 41°09′ north latitude and 124°21′ and 125°43′ east longitude. The ginseng should have a natural shape, with a yellow-colored and slightly glossy skin. The skin should be firm, and the rhizomes should be arranged neatly and orderly, gradually decreasing in size. The rhizomes should be slender, with a length of ≥3.5 cm.
