Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the content of chromium, nickel, arsenic, selenium, cadmium, and lead in the mainstream smoke of cigarettes by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.
This standard is applicable to the determination of chromium, nickel, arsenic, selenium, cadmium, and lead in the mainstream smoke of cigarettes.
The detection limits of chromium, nickel, arsenic, selenium, cadmium, and lead in the mainstream smoke of cigarettes determined by this method are: 1.1 ng/cig, 2.3 ng/cig, 0.3 ng/cig, 0.5 ng/cig, 1.5 ng/cig, and 2.4 ng/cig, respectively.
