SH/T 0929-2016 Determination of Chlorine Content in Grease Using Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the chlorine content in lubricating oils using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The measurement range of this standard is 0.0039% to 13.56% (mass fraction). This range is the sample concentration range studied in inter-laboratory studies. For samples with chlorine content lower than this range, the measurement can be carried out by increasing the sample quantity, and the lower limit of the measurable concentration depends on the sensitivity of the instrument and the dilution factor of the sample; for samples with chlorine content higher than this range, the measurement can be carried out by reducing the sample quantity or increasing the dilution multiple after dissolving the sample, and the upper limit of the measurable concentration depends on the highest concentration of the calibration curve and the dilution factor of the sample. However, this standard is not applicable to the determination of chlorine content in silicone oil.
