Scope
This document specifies a method for identifying nine common types of plastic materials using infrared spectroscopy, and provides sample spectra and analysis of characteristic peaks. This document is suitable for the rapid identification of the following nine common types of packaging plastics: polystyrene (PS), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polylactic acid (PLA), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyamide (PA), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC), and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).
