Scope

This document describes the bending test method for determining the thickness-direction (out-of-plane) tensile strength, tensile failure strain, and tensile modulus of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) laminates.
This document is applicable to unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced plastic (UD-CFRP) laminates. Additionally, due to the size effect of the tensile strength in the thickness direction, the calculation of the effective volume is also described.
