Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 38000 specifies the basic requirements for object identification systems (such as products, "projects", documents, etc., excluding human individuals). It focuses on setting identifiers for objects to facilitate their referencing.
It does not address the reasons for object classification or the verification of whether an object is the one required.
This part includes recommendations for human-readable and machine-readable representations of identifiers, for use in constructing identifiers and identification codes.
It also includes the application of identifiers in a computer-recognizable form that complies with the system's specifications, as well as their exchange requirements.
It does not include specifications for physical files or transmission formats (syntax) used for information exchange between computers, nor does it include specifications and transmission formats for exchanging information and marking identification information on recorded objects using physical media such as files, barcodes, radio frequency identification (RFID), etc.
