Scope

This standard specifies the measurement methods for changes in the dimensions of photographic film and paper caused by the following factors:
—— Changes in the equilibrium moisture content (moisture expansion coefficient) caused by changes in atmospheric relative humidity (RH);
—— Changes in temperature (thermal expansion coefficient);
—— Processing during development;
—— Aging.
This standard involves the moisture content and thermal history of the samples before measurement, the atmospheric conditions during measurement, and data processing. It does not describe the various testing techniques used during measurement.
This standard applies to the measurement of changes in the dimensions of photographic film and paper, but not to the measurement of changes in the dimensions of one-step imaging film.
