Scope

This document specifies the requirements for the use and maintenance of marine cranes, including oil cylinder variable-stroke electric hydraulic cranes, wire rope variable-stroke electric hydraulic cranes, and wire rope variable-stroke electric cranes. This document applies to the following types of marine cranes operating in port or sheltered waters: -- deck cranes installed on ships for loading and unloading equipment, cargo, or containers in port or sheltered waters; -- floating cranes installed on barges or pontoons for loading and unloading cargo in port or sheltered waters; -- grab cranes installed on ships, barges, or pontoons for operations in port or sheltered waters; -- engine room cranes and material cranes installed on ships for lifting equipment and materials in port or sheltered waters. For marine cranes not covered by this document or those operating in other environmental conditions, this document can also be referenced.
