Scope
This standard specifies the testing methods for natural capsaicin, dihydrocapsaicin, and synthetic capsaicin in vegetable oils in the field of forensic science.
This standard is applicable to the identification and judgment of vegetable oils containing capsaicin and adulterated edible oils containing capsaicin, but it is not applicable to the identification and judgment of flavoring oils (such as chili oil and chili sesame oil) containing capsaicin.
