Scope

This document establishes the technical evaluation procedures for the safety performance of escalators and automatic walkways (hereinafter referred to as "safety evaluation"), specifies the operational instructions for the preparation of safety evaluations, the methods of safety evaluation, and the issuance of safety evaluation reports, as well as the transition conditions between the aforementioned stages. It also describes the traceability methods such as risk assessment forms and safety evaluation reports. This document is applicable to the technical evaluation of the safety performance of escalators and automatic walkways in use.
