Scope

This standard specifies the metallographic method, magnetic method, chemical composition method, and test report for determining the ferrite content in austenitic stainless steel castings.
This standard is applicable to the determination of ferrite content in Cr-Ni austenitic stainless steel castings. The determination of ferrite content in duplex stainless steel castings shall be carried out in accordance with this standard.
