Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for determining the apparent metabolic energy of chicken feed using the forced-feeding method in the process of evaluating the effectiveness and safety of livestock and poultry feed.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the apparent metabolic energy of chicken compound feed, concentrated feed, and feed raw materials within the specified range.
This standard is not applicable to the determination of the apparent metabolic energy of fatty feed, roughage, liquid feed, and feed with a crude protein content in the dry matter of protein feed greater than 50% as defined by the international feed classification principles.
