Scope
This standard specifies the design and minimum verification requirements for lithium-ion battery packs used in aerospace applications (including polymer lithium-ion battery packs, hereinafter referred to as "battery packs").
The battery packs use embeddable compounds (lithium can exist in the form of ions or quasi-atoms between the layers of electrode materials) as positive and negative electrode materials.
This standard applies to the design and verification of battery packs. Performance, safety, and security are the key focuses described in this standard.
This standard does not include specific content on the disposal and recycling of battery packs, but it does provide some recommendations for the disposal of battery packs.
