Scope
This standard specifies the general principles for the surveying and mapping of digital topographic maps at scales of 1:500, 1:1000, and 1:2000, including plane control surveying, elevation control surveying, basic requirements for digital topographic maps, grid control surveying, digital mapping, the representation of elements of digital topographic maps, the classification and codes of elements, the joining of map frames, inspection and data compilation, and the results of digital topographic maps. This standard applies to large-scale digital topographic map surveying projects throughout the province. Large-scale topographic maps produced by other means may be implemented in accordance with this standard.
