Scope

This standard specifies the classification, general technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and grade classification, marking, transportation, storage, and ordering and supply of gas-shielded annealing furnaces (hereinafter referred to as "shielded furnaces").
This standard applies to shielded furnaces designed according to Clauses 4.1, 5.1, and 5.2, which are mainly used for annealing steel or copper-based alloys in a protective atmosphere, such as coils and wire coils.
This standard also applies to similar shielded furnaces, and different parts may be subject to separate specifications.
