Scope

Scope: This document establishes the procedures for rapid aerial propagation of tea tree cuttings in light substrate, and provides operational instructions for the establishment of cutting nurseries, the cultivation of cuttings, the construction of nursery facilities, cutting, rooting, nursery management, and seedling quality and packaging transportation, as well as traceability methods such as record and file management. This document is applicable to tea tree cuttings rapid propagation in Shandong tea-growing regions. Main technical content: 3. Terminology and definitions The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. 3.1 Light substrate: A mixture of fermented or carbonized agricultural and forestry waste and lightweight minerals such as peat, perlite, and vermiculite. 3.2 Aerial rapid propagation: A technique of rooting tea tree cuttings in light substrate containing peat and perlite, with external growth hormones, through temperature, humidity, and light control. 3.3 Nursery greenhouses: Controlled-temperature, humidity, and light greenhouses, daylight greenhouses, and large arched greenhouses. 4. Establishment of cutting nurseries: Follow the provisions of Chapter 3 of GB 11767. 5. Cutting nursery cultivation: Follow the provisions of Chapter 5 of NY/T 2019. 6. Nursery facility construction 6.1 Nursery greenhouses 6.1.1 Multi-span greenhouses: Follow the standards of NY/T 2970. 6.1.2 Daylight greenhouses: Follow the standards of JB/T 10594. 6.1.3 Large arched greenhouses: Follow the standards of JB/T 10594. 6.2 Nursery ponds 6.2.1 Width: 100 cm–150 cm; height: 25 cm–30 cm. The bottom is leveled and covered with 15 cm–20 cm of gravel. Above the gravel, lay 5 cm of perlite (2 mm–6 mm in diameter) and disinfect and sterilize the nursery ponds with 800–1000 times of Multisporin. 6.3 Spray system: Equip the nursery ponds with a misting and micro-spraying system, preferably with cross-nebulizer nozzles.
