Scope
This document describes a method for determining the specific surface area of graphene powders using the static adsorption capacity method with argon gas.
This document is suitable for determining the specific surface area of graphene powders with Type II (dispersed, non-porous or macroporous) and Type IV (mesoporous, pore size 2 nm to 50 nm) adsorption isotherms. It is also suitable for determining the specific surface area of graphene powders containing a small amount of micropores, whose adsorption isotherms show a combination of Type II and Type I, or a combination of Type IV and Type I. The determination of the specific surface area of other types of carbon-based nanomaterials, such as carbon nanotubes, carbon fibers, and porous carbon, can also be referred to for use.
