Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, production area, requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and anti-counterfeiting traceability for sweet potatoes in Yantai City, as well as brand management. This document applies to sweet potatoes (fresh) produced within the administrative area of Yantai City, Shandong Province (hereinafter referred to as "sweet potatoes"). Main technical content: 4. Production area: The production area of Yantai sweet potatoes is limited to the current administrative area of Yantai City, Shandong Province, with a geographical location of 119°34′–121°57′ east longitude and 36°16′–38°23′ north latitude (hereinafter referred to as "this region"), as shown in Appendix A. 5. Requirements 5.1 Natural environment: The region is located in the eastern part of the Shandong Peninsula, bordered by the Bohai Sea to the west and north, and the Yellow Sea to the east and south. It connects to Weihai to the southeast and Weifang and Qingdao to the southwest. The area is mostly mountainous or hilly, with a warm temperate continental monsoon climate characterized by distinct seasons, mild temperatures, abundant sunlight, moderate rainfall, and humid air. 5.2 Growing environment 5.3 Sweet potato seedlings: Yantai sweet potatoes should be planted with detoxified seedlings that comply with the requirements of NY/T 1200. 5.4 Classification 5.5 Grading: The quality grade of edible sweet potatoes is divided into Extra, First, Second, and Third grades, which shall comply with the provisions of Table 1. 5.6 Specifications: The specification of sweet potatoes is based on the quality of sweet potato tubers, and is divided into four grades: small, medium, large, and extra-large, which shall comply with the provisions of Table 2. 5.7 Sensory indicators: The sensory indicators of sweet potatoes shall comply with the provisions of Table 3. 5.8 Physical and chemical indicato
