Scope

This standard specifies the definitions of the physical layer, data link layer, and application layer of the communication based on Controller Area Network (CAN) between public area charging equipment and electric vehicles. This standard applies to the communication protocol between non-vehicle-mounted chargers of electric vehicles using conductive charging and BMS (or other vehicle control units with charging control functions). The communication between electric vehicles with on-board chargers and charging equipment is not covered by this specification.
