T/FXHT 001-2018 Geographical Indication Product Feixian Walnut: Procedural Specification for Breeding and Cultivation of High-quality Seedlings
Basic Information
Scope
Main technical content: **Nursery site selection**: Select areas with convenient transportation, sheltered from the wind, flat terrain, deep and fertile soil (≥0.8m), good irrigation and drainage, and low groundwater levels (≥2m). Prefer loam or sandy loam with a pH of 6.5–8.0, and avoid continuous monocultures. **Seed treatment**: Store seeds in cold stratification with sand. Before soil freezing in the same year, soak the seeds in clean water for 3 days, changing the water daily. Then bury them in sand-stratified pits at a temperature of 0–5°C, maintaining moisture but avoiding waterlogging. Stratify for 60–90 days, stopping when the seeds begin to sprout and show white tips. **Water immersion treatment**: Place seeds in sacks or sealed baskets and immerse them in running water or pools for 7 days. After absorbing enough water, remove and dry slightly until 80% of the seeds show cracked sutures, then sow immediately. **Sowing**: Ensure sufficient soil moisture. In spring, sow by digging rows 50–60cm apart and 15–20cm between plants, with row depth 8–10cm. Place the seeds with the suture line perpendicular to the ground and the pointed end facing parallel to the ground. Cover with 6–8cm of soil and lightly compact. **Pest and disease control**: For diseases such as bacterial black spot, anthracnose, branch necrosis, powdery mildew, and root rot, spray 70% Metconazole at 1000-fold dilution or 40% Multisporin at 800-fold dilution during the active period. For pests like moths, beetles, woodworms, spring worms, and scale insects, use Abamectin at 3000–3500-fold dilution for control.
