Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions of fresh corn, factory construction, harvesting, processing of fresh corn ears, packaging, labeling, marking, storage, and transportation. This document is applicable to all fresh corn production enterprises in Suihua City that have joined the Suihua City Fresh Corn and Frozen Fruits and Vegetables Association. Main technical content: 5. Harvesting requirements 5.1 Harvesting standards: Fresh corn should be harvested during the late milky stage to early wax stage, typically 18 to 32 days after pollination. The judgment criteria are: the husks should be slightly white or yellow, the corn ears should be swollen when touched, the silks should be black and dry, and the seeds should be fully developed when the husks are opened. There should be no gaps between rows, and a small amount of sap should ooze out when gently pinching the ears with fingers. 5.2 Operating methods: If the harvesting machinery cannot ensure a non-damaged fresh corn rate of over 98%, manual harvesting is recommended. During harvesting, the ears should be harvested with the husks intact, with gentle and quick movements to avoid bumps and friction. The harvested ears should be placed in transfer baskets (bags) immediately and transported directly to the processing vehicles by dedicated personnel. 5.3 Transportation of fresh corn ears: Fresh corn ears should be transported to the processing plant within 6 hours after leaving the plant. 6. Processing of fresh corn ears 6.1 Storage: After entering the processing plant, the fresh corn ears should be unloaded quickly, handled with care to avoid bumps and squeezing, and stored flat to avoid stacking. 6.2 Inspection 6.2.1 Clearly record the product's origin, producer, and the information listed in GB/T 29373.
