Scope

This document describes the method of determining the isothermal adsorption/desorption amount of methane in shale using the static volume method. This document is applicable to the determination of the isothermal adsorption amount of methane in dry base shale samples, the isothermal adsorption amount of methane in balanced water-based shale samples, the isothermal adsorption amount of methane in shale samples under formation conditions, and the determination of the isothermal adsorption amount of methane in shale where the adsorbed gas is converted into free methane due to a decrease in formation pressure during shale gas production.
