T/YNRZ 006-2023 Late-maturing Mango Techniques Regulations for Coping with Extreme Weather Conditions
Basic Information
Scope
Scope: This document specifies the prevention and response techniques for extreme weather such as drought, heavy rainfall, and frost during the cultivation of late-ripening mangoes in Yunnan Province. This document is applicable to late-ripening mango production areas within Yunnan Province. Main technical content: 1. Terms and definitions: There are no terms or definitions requiring definition in this document. 2. Drought 2.1 Judging criteria: The soil relative moisture content is below 25%, and the mango tender shoots and leaves show wilting. 2.2 Response measures 2.2.1 Rational irrigation: Increase irrigation frequency according to soil moisture conditions. It is recommended to use spray irrigation and drip irrigation methods. When irrigating, it is necessary to irrigate thoroughly once. If the irrigation is too little, it will not achieve the desired effect of replenishing water and cooling, but also cause soil compaction and damage to soil structure. It is advisable to irrigate in the morning and evening. When irrigating, amino acids and humic acid-based organic water-soluble fertilizers can be added to increase soil water retention. When there is extremely high temperature weather, tree crown spraying can be carried out to reduce the temperature of the orchard. 2.2.2 Cooling and humidifying: Select suitable grass species for grass cultivation between rows in the orchard to reduce ground temperature and increase field humidity, and reduce high-temperature fruit drop. It is advisable to plant mung beans between rows in spring, summer and autumn, and plant light-leaved purple flowers, Zhaozhou hard-skinned beans, etc. in winter and spring. 2.2.3 Pruning to control shoots: Prune vigorous shoots and superfluous shoots to ensure the normal growth of fruiting shoots. 2.2.4 Pre-flowering pruning: Reduce pruning amount in early spring, prune with flowers, and remove weak flower branches, crossed branches, overlapping branches, and diseased and insect-infested branches
