Scope

This standard specifies the inspection equipment and instruments, calibration instruments, wall thickness measurement, results, and records for ultrasonic testing of the wall thickness of plastic pipes. This standard is applicable to the measurement of the thickness of plastic solid-wall pipes and fittings that allow ultrasonic waves to propagate at a constant speed internally and enable the detection and resolution of backside reflections, and are made of the same material.
