Scope
Scope: This document specifies the storage and preservation of Xiangnan navel oranges, including fruit harvesting, pre-processing, sorting, anti-corrosion and preservation, storage, and file management. This document is applicable to the storage of fresh Xiangnan navel oranges; Main technical content: 3. Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. 3.1 Xiangnan navel orange Xiangnan navel orange refers to navel oranges grown in cities such as Yongzhou, Chenzhou, Shaoyang, Huaihua, Hengyang, and Zhuzhou, located between 110°E and 114°E and 25°N and 26.5°N. The main cultivar is Niuhe, with early and late maturity varieties also included. The soluble solids content should be ≥11%, and the oranges should possess unique quality characteristics such as "red, clean, sweet, and fragrant" compared to other production regions. 3.2 Defective fruit Defective fruit refers to various losses to the fruit surface caused by natural, biological, mechanical, or human factors, as well as defects such as floating skin, cracked fruit, frost damage, rotting, edema, desiccation, sunburn, granulation, and off-odor that render the fruit unfit for consumption in whole or in part. 4. Harvesting shall comply with the provisions of NY/T716. Fruit should be harvested on a clear day after the surface moisture has dried. Harvesting should be avoided during rain, snowfall, foggy weather, frost, strong wind, or high-temperature days. Fruit for short-term storage and nearby sales can be harvested when nearly ripe, while fruit for long-term storage and long-distance transportation should be harvested when the fruit is at the seventh or eighth stage of ripening. 5. Pre-processing Pre-storage processing should be carried out within 24 hours after harvest. The fruit should be stored in a cool, ventilated area for 3 to 5 days to lose 1 to 3% of its moisture. 6.
