Scope

This standard specifies the basic composition, configuration, and networking principles of clock synchronization systems for smart factories and industrial automation systems. It defines the terms, definitions, functions, and requirements of clock synchronization systems, as well as the methods of managing clock synchronization systems. It also stipulates the measurement test conditions, measurement items, measurement methods, and measurement targets and cycles for clock synchronization systems. This standard applies to industrial Ethernet switches that operate in layers 1 to 2 or layers 1 to 3 of the Open System Interconnection Basic Reference Model specified in GB/T 9387.1, and whose physical layer complies with the IEEE 802.3 standard, the data link layer complies with the IEEE 802.1D and GB/T 15629.2 standards, and the network layer complies with the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) IP protocol suite standards.
