Scope
This standard details the test method for evaluating the tensile shear fatigue strength of adhesives by applying shear stress to standard specimens under specified conditions. The aim is to characterize the performance of structural adhesives on specific metal substrates.
Fatigue performance is a function of the specimen's geometric distribution. The test results are not related to the intrinsic properties of the adhesive and cannot be used for design purposes.
