Scope
Scope: This document specifies the technical procedures for the efficiency improvement and transformation of Pala Yingda orchards, including the transformation targets, objectives, graft branch cultivation, grafting, tree crown shaping after grafting, and post-grafting orchard management. This document is applicable to the efficiency improvement and transformation of Pala Yingda mango orchards. Main technical content: 1. Terminology and definitions: There are no terms or definitions that need to be defined in this document. 2. Transformation targets: Pala Yingda mango orchards. 3. Transformation objectives: After the transformation, the tree crown should consist primarily of Jinhuang mangoes in the inner part and Pala Yingda mangoes in the outer part, with a tree height of 3.5m to 4m. After ensuring high yield, there should be 250 to 300 fruiting branches per tree, including 80 to 120 fruiting branches of Jinhuang mangoes and 150 to 200 fruiting branches of Pala Yingda mangoes. 4. Graft branch cultivation: Select suitable branches for grafting. If no suitable branches are available, follow the following methods for graft branch cultivation: a) Easy sprouting branches: On each main branch 20cm to 30cm away from the trunk, leave one upward-growing branch with an angle of 80° to 90° to the ground as a graft branch. b) Difficult sprouting branches: At a distance of 30cm to 40cm from the trunk, perform ring grafting or make a 0.3cm to 0.5cm wide incision. After the buds on the main branches sprout, leave one upward-growing branch with an angle of 80° to 90° to the ground as a graft branch on each main branch 20cm to 30cm away from the trunk. 5. Grafting: 5.1 Graft selection: Select vigorous, healthy, stable-yielding, and high-yielding branches with a diameter of 2cm to 3cm from Jinhuang mango trees as grafts. 5.2 Grafting time: February to April is suitable. 5.3 Grafting site: Select branches cultivated in 6.1 and 6.2 for grafting on the inner crown of the trees to be
