Scope

This document specifies the harmlessness, ergonomics, restraint, size, protection area, impact performance, marking, and information provided by the manufacturer of combat sports protective gear, and describes the testing methods. This document is applicable to protective gear used in hand-to-hand combat sports such as taekwondo, karate, and free fighting. The additional requirements and testing methods for specific protective gear are specified in the corresponding sections of ISO 21924.
