Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation, storage, quality certificates, and contract (or order form) contents for alkyl hydroxamic acid (sodium).
This standard applies to liquid products of alkyl hydroxamic acid (sodium) (RCONHOH(Na)) manufactured from C7–9 or C5–9 fatty acids. Alkyl hydroxamic acid (sodium) is mainly used as a flotation reagent for various metal oxide ores, partially oxidized sulfide ores, and rare earth metal oxide ores. Alkyl hydroxamic acid is also an extractant for metals such as gallium and germanium in non-ferrous metal smelting.
