Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for non-3GPP access networks to access the 5G core network, with an emphasis on the specific functional requirements related to non-3GPP access, including system architecture, interoperability with 4G networks, functional characteristics, network functions, control plane and user plane protocol stacks, signaling processes, etc. This document applies to the network functions of non-3GPP access networks accessing the 5G core network, including N3IWF, AMF, etc. Note: For convenience of description, non-3GPP access in this document refers to non-trusted non-3GPP access.
