Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 30661 specifies the requirements for testing equipment, testing methods, and information release for wheelchair seat cushions used to maintain tissue integrity and prevent tissue trauma. It does not include requirements and testing methods for the flame retardancy of seat cushions. Appendix B provides recommendations for selecting flame retardant seat cushions. This part does not specify the characteristics of the pressure distribution on the contact surface of the seat cushion and the heat dissipation and water vapor dissipation characteristics of the seat cushion. These will be further regulated in future parts of GB/T 30661.
This part is applicable to devices used as maintenance systems for other support systems, and also to seat cushions other than those used in wheelchairs.
