Scope

This standard establishes a testing method for the performance characteristics of various components of analog and digital pulse echo ultrasonic nondestructive testing instruments with screen displays. The aim is to establish a unified evaluation method, providing a basis for comparing testing data obtained in different laboratories and at different times, as well as for analyzing and processing measurement results.
This standard does not specify acceptance criteria, which should be determined by the user.
The general components of ultrasonic testing instruments and their performance characteristics, including the methods for measuring these performance characteristics, are listed in Sections 1.2 to 1.6.
